Everyday either in the morning when I get up or after work I clean up the clutter. (put dishes in the sink, throw out soda cans, tidy up dirty laundry, go through mail and throw out junk.) This takes 10-15 minutes a day.

I clean the house on the weekend and do laundry. Cleaning the house takes 2 hours and the laundry can up to 4 hours. I start the laundry then work my way through the house changing the laundry as I go. I start in the kitchen. I wipe everything down, start the dish washer, clean the microwave and every other week clean the fridge or oven. Then I do the floor. Next its the living room. Vacuum, wipe things down. Then the bathroom. Spray the tub, wipe things down, do the toilet, scrub the tub. Then the bedrooms, wipe things down. I stop to switch out the laundry and fold when needed.

Each weekend I give myself one "other" task. Like cleaning out a closet or going through clothes to give to goodwill.

I struggle with this all the time, I don't have places for everything yet and 2 boys adding to the clutter hour by hour. BUT, the 2 things I am in control of is laundry and sometimes dishes. I bought the largest capacity washer and dryer (I chose Bosch) and only do laundry one or two times a week.
Before starting to cook I put hot soapy water in a dishpan. I wash the dishes/pans as I go when possible. When done eating the water should still be warm so I never put the dish down when I bring it in from the dining room, I just rinse and wash it. I also keep a soapy sponge to wash a glass or two during the day to keep up, BUT you have to rinse, get wet and microwave that sponge daily to kill the germs.
I'm looking forward to getting other peoples tips! also, someone told me about flylady.com check it out!

You simply clean as you go. If you put everything in a certain spot and it must return there you will not get clutter. Buy only what you need, yes there will be a sale next month too, and never succumb to piles. If you think that piles are neat, they are not.

i take about 20 minutes every morning and do a quick tidy. it is only me and my fiance as well so. i also sort my laundry as i go and if i cant get to the dishes(cause i dont want to :)) i soak them in the sink or give em a good rinse so i wont be stuck at the sink forever when i get to them. also i keep a swiffer in the livingroom so when i decide to dust i have it right there. need anymore ideas IM me.

I used to stay next to a tar highway, so i've got self belief your soreness. no longer purely do you may desire to fret bearing directly to the dirt, yet actaully, tar by some potential properly-knownshows onto just about each and every thing of the wall, which in reality, provides on your dirt and dirt problem simply by fact it sticks. once you may, on painted partitions, use Lava cleansing soap, diluted, on a moist rag (it cuts via grease and tar ok). try this as quickly as each and every few weeks and it will help. As for the curtain, somebody suggested taking a moist rag and fabrics softner and wiping them down. it works relatively properly.
