Last I heard, he will be ready for training camp. I hope he returns, he is a great talent. Wish I had him on my team (Dallas Cowboys).

I say give him a chance. (as long as he can stay healthy).
His father was awesome (**I'm a Giants fan after all)
and his little brother is awesome (**I also went to Don Bosco Prep highschool, where Matt Simms is currently QB)
Chris will be good - he's just got to get some solid playing time.
It doesn't help that his team doesn't really have anyone to help out on offense... or at least someone who can stay healthy.
If the Bucs release him, maybe the Giants will pick him up as a back-up to Manning. You know that Simms in NY is destiny. hahahaha

Yes he is, and according to the source below he will compete for the starting QB job. The Buccaneers signed him to a multi year contract.

judging from his 2005 season when he took over as the starter in midseason, he is certainly much better than just a backup and definitely capable of becoming one of the better quarterbacks in the league...all he needs to do is find some way to keep his passes from getting batted or tipped...or at least i hope he does since i'm a bucs fan

It does not really matter, he is a back up quarterback at best and was terrible until he got injured. Will spend next year backing up Brady Quinn.

Yes he signed an extension with Tampa. I think he'll start it he's healthy, it Tampa is smart they won't take a QB early in the draft, they'll stick with you they're got already.
