It might be how you're sitting or what you're sitting on. My husband got me a recliner that is just heaven. Then there are days that it doesn't help me either. I found that a Boppy pillow used backwards (instead of putting it in front, put it around back) helps me out a lot! It is a part of pregnancy, obviously, and it's no fun. Be thankful you're further along than I am and this will all be over for you soon!! Congrats!

Ohh geez- I feel your pain. I got a lot of sciatica when I was pregnant, and I only got to 37 weeks, so I can't imagine 39 weeks, you poor thing.
I know for me, baths always helped me relax enough to ease the tension in my back muscles, which helped it feel less like it was out of whack. Also- try getting on your hands and knees (trust me, i know how funny it feels with the belly, I had to do it daily).. but it puts you in a different position and shifts the baby off your back. Push your belly forward (like toward the floor) and then stretch it back toward the ceiling.(like a cat stretching).. It might loosen things up enough to give you some relief for awhile.
You're almost there! Best of luck!!!

I'm right there with you. I take a hot shower as often as I can and also have my husband rub my back. It also helps for me to walk walk walk and maintain good posture while I am walking. As soon as I sit down for too long, it only makes it worse. Lastely you can try to apply heat to it - maybe you can borrow a heating pad from someone.
Oh and PS - if you can get to the mall, go sit in one of those back massage chairs for a good half hour or so!!

I had the same problem, I increased my potassium and drank more water through the day. It did improve, but obviously I was still pregnant and it never went away completely until after I gave birth. The thing that helped me most in the middle of the night when my leg would cramp was to wake my husband up and he would rub it and I would tell him in great detail how much it hurt and what it felt like.

Mine did this each time (3) I was pregnant! When I was in lamaze the first time they had us laying on the floor and raising one leg at a time, and my back popped back into place! So I did that anytime my back hurt and it almost always helps! It is also safe to see a chiropractor during your pregnancy, making sure they know you are pregnant ( pretty obvious this far along I am sure!)HTH!GL!

There is a support belt you can wear that feel so goood you will just love it. Takes the strain off your back muscles trying to support all that baby! I wish my OB/gyn had told me about it!!
Day in and day out I wore this thing under my clothes. Try it, you can always return it if you don't love it. Comes in S,M,L,XL so go try them on. It will feel better the minute you put it on!
Get to babies r us and look for these:

Make an appointment to see a Chiropractor, don't let you husband try to pop it that could make things worse. Also, go and get a massage, you could get one at the chiropractor. My brother-in-law is a chiro and he was always adjusting me and it helped so much.
