It won't hurt you to go to work if you're physically able - that is, if you can stay awake and won't be endangering yourself or anyone else by being tired at work. Unfortunately, the tiredness is pretty typical of the first trimester. Extra rest certainly won't hurt you (and is pretty much unavoidable - sometimes you just can't keep your eyes open!), but it isn't required.

Good luck to you, and congrats on your pregnancy! Hang in there - just a couple of weeks now till the second trimester, and energy levels tend to pick up then.

It's very important when you're pregnant to get enough sleep. If you absolutely have to work, but sure to try and find time to take a nap- if you can't do it mid-day, then lay down as soon as you get home. Don't hesitate to go to bed early or wake up a little later. If you need to work, perhaps look into calling in late just so you can get a little more sleep.. at least you'd be showing up that way.
And no worries, the tiredness will pass. You'll spend the next few weeks feeling so tired you could sleep all day and then some, but around your 20th week or so, you'll get a lot of your energy back.
Best of luck!

My midwife told me when you are pregnant your body needs 10 hours of sleep a day. It is really hard to fit that much sleep in, During my 1st trimester I remember being extermely tired and my ex did not understand he wouldn't leave me alone. That's probably the reason we couldn't last through my pregnancy. I know whenever I actually got to work I woke up a little bit as long as it is a job that keeps you moving. If it's a desk job I don't know what to tell ya.

Is your work strenuous or stressful? Do you have other priorities or children? If you can, try to cut down to part time. your body is telling you that you need rest....plus you're body is working hard even when youre doing nothing. So i say rest up, you deserve it. I am 9 weeks pregnant and have 2 older children that can help out with things but Im still quitting my job next month, and i work part time. Its hard, I know. Congrats and good luck to you :)

That's your choice. You're going to be very sleepy for another few weeks, too.

You might want to consider trying to get more sleep at night and trying to alter your schedule so you can nap during the day.

Gee. ... Every pregnant women feels like that. You have to learn how to handle it. Sleeping more at night really helps, but don't over-do-it or you will be even more tired. try to motivate yourself as best as possible, exercise is really good for you too like walking, it really helps!~!

with 10 weeks pregnancy, i think light exercise (plus eating good) is good. if your job doesn't fatigue you then its a good idea to go to work. say you work 8 hours a day, you still have enough time to sleep and rest. however if your work is very stressful, then you probably want to take periodic breaks.
