Old first person shooters?

Question

I have played through Doom and Marathon. I was wondering if there are any other older shooters worth playing? Don't bother saying duke nukem. It won't run on windows xp.

I have played through hexen and Wolfenstien as well. Thanks for the suggestions though!

There's also an ingenious little ad-game called Chex Quest that's based off the doom engine, if you don't mind something a little quirky.

Wolfenstien 3-D! This game is hot! The guy you play as is an american soldier, who get captured from the German's. However you managed to escape and start blasting your way through everyone. In this game you'll find not only soldiers, but you also have to kill dogs, and monsters as well. The story is kinda stupid, but the action is intense! Also, best of all you get to fight off Hitler in the end and he's NOT easy! You have to fight off like 40 soldiers with either your AK-47 or Chaingun and.... Damn, i can't give it away, play it and try it. It's on PC so you can download it and try it out.

Have you played through all the Aleph Null addons like the Eternal series? There are a bunch down under the main downloads on this page:

As for other old shooters, have you tried Hexen? That was another old ID game.

There was 'Hexen' which was like doom, but with wizards. I suspect it won't work on XP without a lot of work though!

Also Wolfenstein (the original) was a pretty decent game - although yet again not sure if you'll get it to work with XP.

Old shooters are great because we have witnessed how over years it has developed,si it will always stay,and we are the last generation to play them.I perfer to play today's shooters but sometimes the old ones too.

theres a game called rise of the triad. I don't know if it would run on xp, but i remember playing that.
