My friend is the biggest snob, she will not shop at Walmart for anything. She thinks only poor hispanic people shop there! We are hispanic. Hello? Do people look down at other people if they shop at discount places. Do you guys?

I have the same problem with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. My sister-in-law refuses to step foot in Sears, Walmart, Target, etc. Even if she wanted to buy a small appliance that could be bought anywhere and was $30 cheaper at Sears than at Macy's -- she'd pay the extra money!!
Last Christmas, my mother-in-law and I were browsing through a little fashionable boutique, and she pointed out to me a bag of pot pourri for $19.99. I told her I could get the almost same exact bag at Walmart's for $7.99, and she got upset, told me to keep my voice down, and never mention Walmart again while shopping in these type of upscale stores. UNBELIEVABLE!!
Don't get me wrong, they're both nice ladies; and I love them ... BUT, REALLY!!!!

I am not a guy but I don't look down on anybody for where they shop. I really like Target and I love to find a bargain at the goodwill. I don't shop at walmart very often, not that I think I'm too good. I think they should pay the people who work for them alot more money.There are alot of Hispanics where I live and they always seem to be dressed very nice.

I'm a bargain shopper, I love knowing I got a good deal on something. When someone compliments me on something I'm wearing, I love being able to say "I only paid x dollars." My theory: why pay $50 for one shirt when I can get like 10 tops if I bargain shop? Walmart-yep I shop there Target--great clothes, great price, our Goodwill is kind of shady, but I've shopped there once or twice...do you have a Gabriel Brothers? I live there! Bargain shopping is great, and if you don't want to tell then nobody has to know. I definitely don't look down to people that shop at discount places, in fact I personally look up to them, your friend needs to get her head out of her butt. I would personally be pretty upset if she made a comment that was insulting to the race I am. Maybe you need to reconsider your friendship with someone that is so quick to judge other people.

I shop anywhere i love target, walmart, and when i am looking for a costume or something goodwill is the place to go! I do enjoy shopping at the mall but it is not practical for all of my clothing needs. and it is really expensive. I do not like anyone who looks down on others for their race because they didn't pick it! anyone can shop anywhere and if anyone has a problem with that they have their own problems to deal with.

I love Walmart, I don't have target around where I am in Nova Scotia, but I would certainly shop there if I did. Ask your friend why is Walmart so big if only poor hispanic people as she says shop there. There is absolutely nothing wrong with shopping cheap.

Your friend must be young because once you realize the value of a dollar you'll think twice about paying $40 for a shirt or $75 for jeans or $8 for one pair of underwear. I'll shop anywhere. I like thrift stores, you can find some good stuff and it's important for the environment to reuse whatever you can. I won't buy worn shoes or undies there, but jeans and tops, sure. Anywhere you shop you gotta look at the quality and what looks good on you. The only thing I splurge on is a good winter coat and levi's, because they fit me great and they last forever. My faves are Old Navy, Kohl's, Goodwill, and TJ Maxx.

Nope. most of my closet is from thift stores. I find better clothes that fit well there. I will go to walmart or target if there is a clearance sell. Almost never the mall. why spend so much money on a pair of jeans? for 50 dollars I can get almost 2 weeks of outfits at the thift store.
I am not hispanic, I have a bachelor degree. I do not look down on people who go to thift stores, they are being good stewards of their money

I've found some cute tops at Walmart before, a couple of which I still own and wear on a regular basis. But I rarely shop for clothing there, as far as pants go, because they don't fit my shape. And I know of people that are well off and still shop at Walmart. Take one of their sales flyers and hit your friend with it and tell her to quit being so arrogant and picky.
Clothes are clothes and I'm not one of those superficial morons that think people will like me more if I don't shop there but shop at a more expensive, popular store. Your friend needs to lighten up.

I used to look down on shopping anywhere discount, but then I grew up! I find Target's stuff to be quite nice (especially the Merona and Isaac Mizrahi lines), but I wish they'd start stocking petite sizes. I'm somewhat forced to spend a bit more on clothes because I'm petite, not because I like the label. But Kohl's has some great petite-sized clothes, which aren't too expensive at all.

i dont shop at wallmart, because of the politics, not because i dont like the clothes, and you can find cheap clothes at other stores, not just walmart, it's not even THAT cheap. Anyway, cheap clothes are vital, you can't wear a 3 piece suit or a 300 dollar silk shirt all the time. Theres nothing wrong with a white cotton t-shirt that came in a 6 pack for 5.99
