Melancholy is 'choler' and like blood or brain power, everyone has some of it The mood we allow to dominate becomes a part of the personality.Thus , there are people who 'blow hot and cold' or are temperamental.Some always have the blues or are melancholic.Some people are a mixture of temperaments.Melancholy is a sadness that often the person experiencing cannot explain; and it may be hormonal or according to the moon etc.
