I use Avast! antivirus which works wonders. I have yet to have a problem with it. You can use it free for a year and then you have to answer a questionaire and you get another free year. It will even update itself every day or two.

You can't go wrong.

AVG is free. Did you download a trial version of the software by mistake perhaps?

AVG-Free is linked below. Download from the "AVG Free for Windows installation files" section on the page.

Here is the best Antivirus and its got a 30 day trial download.ESET NOD32 Antivirus offers superior, comprehensive protection, the fastest scanning throughput, and the latest performance. "When you combine the speed, accuracy and advanced heuristics capabilities of ESET’s solution, it is clearly the best performing AV product on the market today." NOD32 also won the proactive on-demand detection, and highest on-demand scanning speed categories.Finalist in the Best Anti-Malware Category of the 2007 SC Magazine Readers Choice Awards. NOD32 conserves resources in memory and on disk, leaving more for your critical applications. The installer is just 11 MB and the application consumes an average 23 MB in memory (this fluctuates with changes to the detection technology). ThreatSense updates, which include heuristics logic and signatures, are usually between 20 kB and 50 kB. Switch to NOD32 and be more productive
