I did the progesterone challenge to help bring on a period. I took Provera for 10 days and my last pill was 2/14 at night. I still have no signs of getting my period. I have taken a HPT which was negative. Why would my period not come? I have done this before and it has always worked. I have PCOS, and am also on 2000mg of metformin daily. Thanks.

I have a call into my obgyn. She knows the medications that I was on during the progesterone challenge. I also see an RE, and will call him tomorrow if my regular obgyn doesn't get back to me with sufficient info by then. No worries about being underweight or excercising too much (not an issue for me). I have two children and use to be regular before PCOS, so developmental issues are also a no. Thanks again.

I hope you are going to a GYN who specialized in infertility problems since hormone inbalances and menses issues fall in the category. And have you thought that stress can cause the menses stopping, as well as being severely underweight, or running or exercising too much? Also, watch out watch OTC's and prescription medications you take because these can affect the menses.

The person who can give the best advise is your GYN, not ladies who just are another female.

I'm using the same stuff! I just started last night though...so I'm hoping it works for me. My doctor told me to take a HPT if my period did not come. Sounds like you've done that. Pregnancy tests are not always completely accurate...but I'd difinitely check with your doctor.
