Here is a website that will help you understand in detail how to care for your bonsai: http://www.happynews.com/living/gardening/care-bonsai-tree.htm

As for whether your bonsai is attached to your emotions, I believe all of my plants are somewhat in tune with my emotions, and not only are they affected, but they are healers of such. My house plants which come into daily contact with me don't fare so well. But my outdoor garden plants, my perennials, my shrubs and flowers and vegetables, they thrive. And as they thrive, they heal me.

I was unable to find a direct link as to the attachment of the bonsai and your emotions, unfortunately. But here is another link that is quite extensive, and iVillage is a great resource: http://faq.gardenweb.com/faq/bonsai/

Happy Pruning!

a bonsai plant requires meticulous care. wires are wrapped around each branch to ensure correct angle you are trained your plant to grow in. the idea of bonsai plants are to recreate the ancient wind swept trees of the far eastern islands. bold trees that have survived the harshest of conditions whilst their roots are clinging for life over the jagged ( or smoothed) rock ledges. perhaps this is why it entangles with human emotion. the similarities of life struggles we survive just like the bonsai tree.
