While this isn't terribly common, it also isn't terribly uncommon. Mostly, it's like you say, quite a chore to keep up all the time. Eventually you'll be able to turn to electrolosis if you so choose, which will preven the hairs from ever growing back, but unless you have family willing to shell out money for it, you're kind of stuck for the time being unfortunately. Some sort of hair removal will be required at this point. I don't think that this would be due to a hormonal imbalance at all, some people just naturally have more hair than others, male, female, whatever race, it happens.

If there's not too much of it, do you really need to do anything? Most guys are OK about women with, for example, a slight moustache.
If you do decide you have to do something, then there isn't a simple answer.
Facial and body hair on women comes about in the same way as on men because of
1) your body being sensitized, before you were even born, to testosterone -- doesn't happen to all girls, but does to many
2) your body producing high levels of testosterone
The growth rate and coarseness of the hair depends on just how much testosterone is circulating in your bloodstream.
Steer clear of bleaching -- when someone sees you against the light you'll look as if you have a glowing moustache and/or beard.
As far as removing it is concerned it's worth remembering that
* Waxing, plucking, threading, epilating all pull the hair out by the roots and where the growth is hormonally-driven can actually stimulate a dormant follicle into producing more hair quicker. They also distort the root if done repeatedly, leading to hair growing at strange angles. And you've got to let the hair grow to quite a length before you can repeat the exercise. It can also damage the skin and discolor it. Long-term use of waxing also causes bad wrinkles.
* Chemical depilatories strong enough to remove the hair are very likely to burn the skin, cause swelling and cause long-term discoloration of the skin.
* Laser is also liable to cause burning and discoloration and in any case only works effectively on a dark hair/light skin combinantion.
* Electrolysis is very liable to cause scarring and discoloration of the skin.
Which, like it or not, leaves shaving which does not damage the skin. Best done with a men's-style electric razor, the best of which, for women, are probably those from the men's range of Norelco razors (Philishave outside the US). Most women who try a men's Norelco wonder why nobody ever told them about it before. Just don't use it on hair longer than 1/16".

If you're worried something might be wrong, it's probably a good idea to consult a doctor and have it checked out. If it's some sort of hormonal dis-balance, etc. that causes the problem, medication should help. If everything is fine, which I hope it is, then luckily there are lots of products out there for dealing with unwanted facial/body hair. You might want to visit a beauty salon: a specialist will help you choose a product/procedure that will work best for you. And above all, I can assure you that you are not alone! Just browse through 'women's health' questions and you'll see what I mean. :-)

Have u been to the drs and had them test you for polycystic ovarian syndrome? Dont be embarassed about it, loads and loads of women are on the hairy side, thats how all these waxing and hair removal companies make there money. Someone must by the products.
I think u should go and show the dr who can do u some blood tests to check ur hormone levels. Dont worry about showing her/him they have seen it all before. You could wax it or bleach or pluck it if you wanted to, then u would feel more confident wearing revealing clothes.

Some women are just hairier than others... hair on the stomach and around the nipples is not at all unusual. It seems to be more common among some ethnic groups. If you're unusually thin you can develop a condition called "lanugo" where you get more body hair, but you have to be *very* thin indeed.
If you're self-conscious about it, you can wax, pluck, or bleach. A lot of women do this.

hiya, i have hairy arms i used to hide them all the time, but its amazing how many people actually dont care or notice, i always thought about shavin them off but i have seen what happens wen u do, so i definatley dont advise that, i have seen other girls with hairier arms than me which gives me some comfort. i find that the hairs on my underarms and legs are very dark compared to some of my friends. Every1 has hairs all over their bodies, unfortunatley some of us are darker than others particularly if you have dark hair or darker skin tones. The line from your belly to your pubic bone is normal i would say it is beta to bleach this get advice from your local beauty salon they are very used to this so dont be embarrased. Every1 also has hairs on thier nipples i have a few darker 1s but dont let them bother you, i certainly would say in no way are you abnormal, the thing i have learnt to realise there is always some more worse off than you, and as 4 blokes if you have a real man that loves you he wont care. please dont worry hope you get it sorted take care x

I have hair in those places too. It's normal for dark haired/skined women. I wax my arms, & the strip down my stomach, & as for the hairs around the nipples, get a pair of tweezers & pluck them out.

your not alone sweetheart. If you think it truly is quite bad go and see your doctor. I am currently in the process of being tested for Polycystic Ovaries. Other symptoms of this are as follows-
Irregular Periods
Excess weight on your stomach
Excess body hair
Theres loads of info on the net about it. Get in touch with me if you want someone to talk to.
Good Luck

You seem normal, some girls have more hair than others, however, maybe you want to ask a doctor, ask your gyn, if there's anything wrong he will help, and you will feel better. If you are looking for a serious answer, ask your doctor.

I have know many women with hair in all of those places and I expect more have it but as it is downy and light it is not noticeable. But you will never be happy about it so seek some real medical advice.
