I ask because our mothers told us to be nice , sweet, kind and all that towards women but most women dont like that mess? Do you think we were told the right advice, but too soon life?

I CAN WRITE IN CAPITAL LETTERS TOO, but it doesn't make my argument particularly legible or authoritative.

Anyways, the problem is that it all depends on the woman; there are so many different types of people that that sort of advice doesn't apply to all, or possibly even the majority. That said, I haven't seen many younger girls that date guys who are deferent and soft-spoken with lots of kind words to say about somebody. I've seen it time and time again on these posts, take a look at school, and am starting to believe that women (maybe the younger ones in particularly) mostly like somebody who is confident and self assured, who won't bend to their will. People like that end up friends, not lovers. It's garbage, but it's the way things are, and it makes lots of sense if you think about it.

EDIT: Baba Yaga, grow up in what way? Is a person not allowed to post a question concerning the behavior of women and the morality or wholesomeness of a body of advice? In case you didn't read the question:

Obviously the poster feels it's good advice; maybe just not so good for relationships. He wants to affirm whether or not his suspicions are right.

Posting quick, smarmy replies is not evidence of maturity; it is evidence of impatience, ignorance, and a discourteous attitude.
The poster certainly doesn't need to grow up based upon his question; YOU are the one who appears to have this need based upon your conduct and replies.

Arthur I just think that you have not met the right person. Don't worry some day you will meet the person that will make you feel great all the time. Women truly love men to be kind and nice and your mother would never lie to you about these virtues. Be patient and continue to listen to you Mother and I promise you life will get better.

The problem is, women know what they want to like, but not what they do like.

You don't have to be a jerk, but just look at men who are successful with women, they don't suck up to them.

I'll illustrate...Today on the bus home my friend was making fun of this girl, saying how immature she was and just generally being mean, but in a funny way. She didn't react badly, she kept smiling and laughing and was in hysterics by the end of the trip. How many women would suggest you do that??

I've never been given such lame advice by my mother, my parents just let me get on with my love life. The best thing to do is copy those who are succesful, they know what they are doing.
