My student adores pine cones and he likes to squeeze the pine cones in his hand but when they get soft he tears them up and makes a mess. Does anyone know where I can get fake pinecones which are hard?

I've looked all the usual places and on the internet so I'm hoping someone knows exactly where one can be found. Thanks.

At a nearby craft shop or get an original one and cover it with a Siliconized craft liquid to avoid scratches. It is a coating they use in decoupage.

Try craft stores such as Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Joann Fabrics, etc... they also often have things like this in big box stores like WalMart

Check craft stores, joanne fabrics, pat catans, wal mart... old christmas decorations could work too.
