What does acting black mean?

Everytime I drop a fresh rhyme and spill some mad lyrics, get loud and roudy all the haters tell me to stop acting black.

So now I'm assuming that being loud and roudy is a black thing only?

your sorta answered your own question, acting black is more so a meaning of an act that is considered a ghetto-ized standard of life...you know the rapping, rhyming, beat boxing, roudy, speaking slang language types that wear there pants around his/her butt, wearing ball caps tilted to the side, baggy clothes, rocking the newest name brand gear.

I don't believe it's a black thing only but there are certain things growing up in a black neighborhood that can be attributed to certain behavior.

It's a lifestyle for alot of black people and it has nothing to do with ACTING BLACK, it is BLACK, it is what it is, you could very well meet black people from affluent black and white neighborhoods and they will probably pick up alot of the speech and ways of less fortunate neighborhoods.

Just tell your friends it's a black thang and they wouldn't understand...this will throw them off lol!

It just means that you talk or act in a way that might be similar to the behavior of a black person might act sterotypically. It's probably the way you are speaking, and/or the words that you are choosing.

People probably think that you are trying to sound like you're a bigtime gangsta from the ghetto or something. If you are being fake, people can sense that, and that's probably why they are saying that to you.

Lots of people assume that stuff is for black people only. I think that's biggoted and stupid though. But know that there are limits, mainly when you tell a white guy to shut up and they say "Don't be hatin' cuz I'm black!" (Note: That actually happened to me once. I told an annoying kid to shut up, and he said that, despite the fact that he was a white jewish kid.)
