New or current laptop are using Lithium-Ion battery. For the first usage, you'll need to recharge it until its full, then you can start to use your laptop. After 3-4 times charging times, it's full capacity starts to show up. There's no use on draining, because Lithium-Ion battery doesn't have any memory effect not like Ni-Mh battery.

Lithium battery starts to loose its performance after 500-600 times charging times.

Many say that the battery should be completely drained, others disagree (myself included). There should be something in the manual for the laptop or the battery with what the manufacturer recommends.

That being said, I have never had ANY issues with fully charging a battery that has a partial charge already. In fact, many laptops can have the battery inserted while the laptop is plugged in and turned on, although I do recommend turning it off first to avoid any surge.

Also, a battery will charge faster if the laptop is plugged in and turned off.

specific, you may harm the battery via overcharging it. yet in a diverse way is to fee it on a similar time on a daily basis. Batteries can at times improve "thoughts" and run down swifter to get the subsequent fee faster. I advise that once this is totally charged, take out the battery and go away your pc on A/C means once you utilize it or no longer. Now i'm no longer attempting to scare you. An hour or 2 totally charged and left in can no longer harm it particularly much in any respect. the element is, in case you do it always, then the themes will possibly come. wish this helped.

With rechargeable batteries it is the same with all of them always charge them all the way and then let them run all the way down. it helps to prolong the life of the battery. If you leave the battery on charge longer than necessary, the battery charges and dumps and wears out quicker.

I don't think it matters when you charge it.
