I was sedated, and have been on hydrocodone, ibuprofen, and penicillin for the last week. I just found out I was pregnant this today, and I was wondering if I should be concerned about all of the drugs I have been putting in my system and the fact that I was sedated during the procedure.

There is very little information about the effects of hydrocodone on the fetus. There are no adequate studies of ibuprofen in pregnant women. Therefore, ibuprofen is not recommended during pregnancy. Penicillin should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.

I would contact your OBGYN and just tell them what is going on. That way you are on the safe side. From my expecience (I had the exact same thing happen to me! Although mine was a root canal.) our daughter came out healthy! Take care of yourself. I wish you the best.

The potential for harm exists, but is fairly low. Let your doctor know what happened, but don't stress about it. What's done is done.

YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR AND EXPLAIN TO HIM MAYBE HE COULD CHECK THE BABY WELL BEING WITH AN ULTRASOUND OR SOMETHING ELSE. TAKE CARE AND RELAX. GOOD LUCK.
