My rent man is evicting me and my family, husband called rentman to try to work something out so that we do not become homeless and he called cops to say he was being harrassed, cops came to file report and while there shared husbands criminal record with our rent man. I understand this is available through public record but is it legal and morally ethical for him to do that and is there anything we can do, surely there are rules about this. We Live in South Carolina

I am being evicted because he backed out of a deal that we would work on the house and get it ready to sale in exchange for rent. We did our part and had enough work done to the house to pay our rent up to April 2007, he got what he wanted and the house is ready so he wants us out. So no I am not behind on rent.

Public record is PUBLIC. Suppose an officer had an opportunity to inform you about a persons background and didn't. If you were hurt or victimized by that person you would probably sue the officer for not divulging information that might have prevented it.

Criminal records are a matter of public record, but disclosing that king of information so freely I bet is not kosher.
You should file a report on the officer as well, and also need to mention the landlord's false police report, which is a crime.

If your man (husband) has a criminal record then it should be told to the landlord. I further believe that it should be shared with your neighbors so that your husband can be monitored for the rest of his life.

it relatively is relatively obtainable. it could rely on how extreme the fees have been and how in the past. history tests for jobs in regulation enforcement are often very thorough so it is going to arise so do no longer lie approximately it! besides, maximum state and federal companies have workers codes which limit you as an officer from associating with persons of questionable character.

You forgot to tell us why you're being evicted. You do have to pay the rent you know. You answered your own question--this is public info, so he can repeat it if he wants. Time to take responsibility for your own action mamma.
