Pretty much the start of Rock n' roll bands...anywhere. Not just in America

They seemed to be the first band that created such a hysteria that the older generation began to take notice. They weren't liked by the older generation but they were loved by the youth of the time. They're look and their sound was different. They didn't try to conform to the comfortable norms of the time. They were also excellent song writers and this is reflected in the music that they have created.

They didn't effect it, they created it! With their experimentation in the studio, they forged the way that most artists record now. I doubt there will ever be another group to make such an impact in so short a time, that the repercussions will still be felt decades later.

They were way ahead of their time. Their creativity was amazing. All rock & roll after The Beatles was influenced by them.
