But how do you define 'necessities'? For one person, alcoholic drinks are luxuries, whereas another perceives them as necessary to survival.

Here's another suggestion: "leisure" is what we do wholly for its own sake; "work" is what we do at least partly for the rewards of it being done.

Yes, leisure activities are the things that you do to forget about work and all the stress that comes with it. It is something that you do to feel happy, and stress free.
