I get to see my Dad!!! and my dog!!!

I don't think anything happens. All of the stories of life after death, and different religions' ideas of heaven were just made up to make people feel better about dying, and where their loved ones ended up. It also helps to have a threat of 'eternal punishment' to keep people in line. Churches spent years controlling populations through fear - and some continue to do so today.

The other post about 'getting to see my dad and my dog' is a perfect example of why someone would want to delude themselves into thinking that there is life after death. While it is sad to lose a loved one, and people want to hope that they will see them again - it is better to remember them for who they were while they were alive rather than holding onto fleeting hopes that they will be there 'on the other side' waiting for you.

I might be wrong, but I have never seen any evidence to support claims of life after death - the 'white light' that people see when they have a 'near death experience' is easily explained by the way your vision blurs when oxygen is cut off to your brain. All religious texts require you to set aside reason and accept the things in them on faith. The 'predictions' made by old manuscripts of the bible and other religious texts could all easily be fakes (or coincidental), including the 'dead sea scrolls'.

Now, all of that said - I do not think that the lack of life after death should change how you live your life. Indeed, if this is all there is, you should spend your time attempting to do as much as possible, see as much as possible, do as much good as you can for the future and for your children. To do otherwise is pointless (even if there is no reward or punishment waiting for you).

Spread love, peace, and happiness, and you will actually attain a sort of eternal life through the way people remember your actions and words.

Your body is left behind and your spirit carries on into your afterlife. Thats about how far in depth i can answer that question in my owm opinion! But i have always been fascinated by things such as the afterlife and death.

This may seem a bit wacky but here we go...

I think the point when you die, you wake up in a new reality. Im not sure if you remember where you have been or what you have done. I hope so. Its going to be a difficult place. But you live there until you die again.

i believe your body dies but your soul carries on living. if you have not learnt all there is to learn your soul will return into another body so you can live again and learn further more lessons. hence why we occasionally experience de ja vu! once we have learnt all there is to learn we then go to heaven or a better place (as i'm not 100% sure heaven exists!)

This is my opinion, albeit a little crazy, that's just the way i am !

:D

The soul finds others like it, and they get together somewhere.

So, Muslim fundamentalists will be together, liberals will be together, American conservatives will be together. Liars will be together, honest people will be together. People who are open minded will be with other people who are open minded.

And everyone will know the truth, because truth is eternal. No truth disappears. But some souls will still deny it, because people are so stubborn.

I think we all get to live, but we live on the other side of Life. When I die I will get to be with my dad, I just know it. I'm a daddies little girl and I miss him so much. Personally I would rather be dead with my dad then living on this horrible earth.

You rot, or get scattered on the ground, either way you put some nutrients back into the earth. Nothing like the amount you'll have taken out, but a little payback.

Depends on your own religion beliefs. I'm an athiest and believe there's something (not god). The way I see it is that to spend a life time here then die and there's nothing seems a waste to me.

No one knows for sure, you will have to see when that happens, just like the departed of the past.

Well...I don't know anyone who has actually died, been dead awhile, and then come back to tell me what has happened so I'm going to venture out on a limb here and say nothing...that's it...the end...no more...I'm done...
