My best friend, in 2002, drowned her 2 young daughters and shot herself. I had no idea she was depressed. We went shopping on Saturday with the kids, and on Monday, I no longer had them in my life. I miss them everyday. And I will cherish all the moments I have with my 2 girls and my family even more for the rest of our lives.

On the morning of 9-11 My girlfriend and I were fighting over a test we'd just taken in our early a.m. Abnormal psych class. We were riding the bus back to her apartment when some guy on a cell phone randomly told me "hey, someone flew a plane into the WTC." I didn't really realize what he meant. I figured he meant someone crashed a little Cessna or something.
So we get upstairs. We're still fighting. She's in the kitchen making some eggs and hollering, and I turn on the TV. I stop hollering. I didn't say anything. She came out, demanding to know why I was now being a jerk and not talking.
What I had turned the TV on just in time to see was the second plane hitting the WTC. I don't think we said another word for about 5 minutes. I still don't know what we were fighting about (thus, I didn't elaborate earlier in the story!). We forgot.
