depending on your type of music,as far as i know,some band sites do have explanation on how their songs were written.some fan sites too. I'm not sure if it was ash' website,maybe a fansite that explains some of their songs.(can't remember the site) Radiohead fansite that explains most of their songs,you could check out www.greenplastic.com. There's also The Beatles' www.iamthebeatles.com
