for some reason when i bend my arm for a period of time (writing, holding a drink, etc.) The place where my arm bend begins to hurt and my shoulder and my forarm feel kind of numb. also i get like shooting pains in my finger, like they are being shocked.
could this be a pinched nerve or poor circulation?

Most likely a circulation problem. It is extremely rare and painful to pinch a nerve. Most of what we refer to as pinched nerves (arm falling asleep, for example) is really the result of circulation. Bending the arm for an extended period slows the blood flow. The sensations of pain and tingling that you feel is simply the result of the blood rushing back to those capillaries.

a pinched nerve is not your arm falling asleep. thats your arm falling asleep. A pinch nerved can be during normal activity, say turning your neck to see better, and all of a sudden, shooting pain up and down your neck Of course thats the most servere pinched nerve, basicly the pain from a pinch nerve comes from movement. what you're describing sounds more of poor circulation. like holding your hand up and the teacher ignores you.
