They will because they have only lost 4 games with Webber. They have won a handful and went on like a 10 game winning streak. When Webber plays well, the Pistons win. If Webber sucks, then the Pistons lose. There are 5 factors to the Pistons winning the Championship.
1). Chauncey and Rip
Chauncey Billups is probably the team leader and "captain" of this team. Rip Hamilton is the scorer. If Rip doesnt score, the Pistons physically cannot win.
2). Sheed
Rasheed Wallace is the one wild card factor for the Pistons winning the championship. I mean what can this man not do? He can dunk, lay up, post up against guys like Shaq, drain 3's. Hes the playmaker here.
3). Webber and the Bench
Chris Webber was an excellent steal for the Pistons. Right away he gelled with the team. They have only lost 4 games with him. A couple of those games being against tough teams (i.e. San Antonio and New Jersey). The bench will also be a key factor. With Maxiell and Delfino, points will come easy.
4). Flip Saunders and Injuries
Saunders is a BIG FACTOR in the championship run. If Flip makes bad decisions, then you can just kiss that championship goodbye. He will be the underdog coaching wise. He will be against coaches like Pat Riley, Mike Brown, and Avery Johnson. Also, if injuries stay low. Then the Pistons have a great chance of winning the big one.
5. DEEEEEEEEETROIT BASKETBALL!!!
Pistons fans around the nation will play the biggest part. If nobody has faith in the Pistons, they will play like crap and will eventually look forward to golf after the season is over. Pistons get fueled off of the crowd and they win that way. Take a look at Chauncey's half court shot a couple years ago. There was no way he would have taken that shot if he didnt have faith in it. He eventually made it and took the game into overtime.
GOOD LUCK BOYS!! GO PISTONS!!!

Currently, I don't see the Piston's making another run at the title. There are too many teams that have their number this season. I don't think they can even make the Finals. Even if they do manage to crawl their way up to there, there's still that western conference team they have to take care of. That's even worse than any team they will face in the playoffs.

Next year... The Suns and Mavs are too good this year, but once the Suns are a year older (cough... Nash) and the Pistons have a little more gelling time with Webber, then maybe.

It looks promising, now if LIons could only build a team but that will never happen.

I think they can do it for the simple fact that no one thinks they can. When ever people doubt them they actually get the job done.
