if an "old" love which is living in another country and u only connect via emails or msg wants you back ??? but of course dont write it straight !
what would u write or what "hints" would u use ???
i am very curious as i have the feeling that my old flame is doing it this days but i am not 100% sure ;-)

the signs will be he contacts u often, he wants to know how u spend ur time (indirectly asking with whom), sometimes he may bring up the past and ur feelings for each other then.
if he doesn't write it straight out that he wants u back, i would not talk about it. esp as its an old flame in another country. i would write normal stuff as i always do and would not use any hints.
if u like him and want to get back with him, think about it and make sure u are getting back with him for the right reasons. think about what went wrong the last time for u to split up and make sure that issue has been sorted so that u don't get involved only to end things becos of the same probs and have a lot of pain. also, long distance relationship is hard work and hopefully, both of u will be determined enough to make things happen. good luck.

I think if he is asking pressing questions about your love life then he would be trying to get back together with you.
If he is really very interested in how you feeling and he is paying you more attention than just a friend would then maybe he is thinking about you a lot... Also reminiscing about the past/good times.
If you are intrigued then respond on the same level of intensity as him and see what happens =)) Good luck!
(Don't forget why you broke up last time though... It may come back to bite you!)

I would tell him you're seeing someone or just met this great guy and talk about this other guy to him so the old flame will know that your relationship with him is strictly friends.

Ask him. And if you don't want to ask him, take his words at face value and stop reading into them. That's how people get in trouble.

oh please, just ask him directly. be straight to the point. it wouldn't be hard for him to send hints (that is, if your intuition is correct).
