It sounds like you probably ovulated/conceived about a week later than predicted by your last menstrual period (the typical method of calculating due dates). Ultrasounds are usually very accurate for measuring gestational age, so I would go with the corrected due date.
Remember, there is a reason why it is called your ESTIMATED due date (EDD); they are estimates only, based on a rough average of 40 weeks from your last menstrual period. Most women will deliver within two weeks (+/-) of their EDD.

From everything I've read and what the ultrasound tech at my OB's office told me, you can't see the heartbeat until about 6-7 weeks. Therefore, I'd probably go with what your doctor is saying. Even if your baby is small, the fact that you saw the heartbeat is good thing. Don't worry. I had my first ultrasound at 5 weeks and all we saw was a black sac, which worried me even though the u/s tech told me that was normal. I had another u/s exactly 2 weeks later and saw the baby and heartbeat. It's amazing how much they grow in such a short time. Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Don't worry a bit, that is how it always is, you will notice every ultrasound you have will vary a little. They do measurements, but then they say give or take a few ounces. My daughter was 5 weeks early, the day before she was born I had an ultrasound and they told me she was 5lbs 6ozs. give or take a few ounces, well when she was born less than 24 hours later she weighed 4lbs 15ozs. Good luck to you!

that is actually 6 days difference. 5 days is the variance for a due date of oct5th. if it is greater than 5 days - you due date may be adjusted 1-3 days accordingly. Its OK - that your dates are a little off. you may have ovulated on a day later...etc. Don't worry! Ultrasounds are only a guestimate- never perfect! ha ha ha! i.e. occasionally a girl turns to a boy - just joking

the same thing happened with my sister, there is know way to know the exact time of ovulation, and a due date can vary about 2 weeks, so dont worry!

No, they aren't very accurate anyway.
They really don't start "growing" until the second trimester when all the internal stuff is done being formed. Don't worry!!
