I am moving out of my apartment in a week b/c I can't afford the rent. I can't move in to another apartment b/c I just lost my job. I don't have friends I can stay with.
Here's the catch: I have a toddler and my mom has agreed to take him into her home. She said I can't live with them b/c we don't get along. I don't want to stay at her place any way cause I can't stand her.
So what do I do? This has never happened to me before so I don't know how shelters work. I live in Chicago.

call a church....even if your not a member... they can help
are you raising this toddler by yourself?
id suggest going to the church first, and only letting ur mom take ur son in as alast resort...
she may tell your son untruethful things about you

Try a salvation army shelter. I have seen some, they are not that bad...the people really help you out. I know you cant have kids in there, but since your toddler is staying with your mom, it should'nt be a problem. Try looking for some and check them out they help with everything from finding work, eating, and some finances. Give it a shot......One thing is you dont want to loose your child to the state for this.....ask your parents for some temporary help.

i would keep the kid with u because u are most likely to get shelter with a little one and they will take very good care of you until you can get a place. They even help you find someplace that you can afford once you get on your feet. See if your mom will just babysit him while u get a job so that u prove to her that u r trying. Good Luck

ok some shelter let you stay i think for 2 to 3 days, then you leave for a day then can return, if you was closer to our home ,we be glad to take you both in,,i realy feel for you, we have often taken people on the web in, an they was some of the best people we met, i sure if you look around you could find something, but i can see a mother are a dad not takeing their child in,

in case you get given a place by ability of the council/housing then yeah. Thats existence hun. Sorry. I pay 0.5 of my wages a month on housing, I left domicile at sixteen. in case you prefer to be independant you only gotta grin and bear it. in case you dont have babies I doubt you will have the flexibility to get tax credit.. you will get a help on council tax for being under 19 and being single, you're in a position to get some housing earnings.. yet no longer alot. nicely executed on the interest, wish each little thing is going nicely.

i am sorry about your situation,try the department of human services tell them your situation and you need help to get back on your feet,this has got to be scary for you and my prayers are with you,HUD sometimes has affordable housing soon as possible find a job apply at the DHS and HUD online if necessary and tell them about your situation and could they tell you what to do..............good luck and God Bless

why dont you try asking your friends?
if it dosent work, try asking the police or someone about the homeless shelters around you. there;s bound to be one that will take you in. i feel so sorry for you.

invest in cardboard boxes, and magazines, i hear they do well to line clothing in the cold months, oh and you might wanna start by, GETTING ANOTHER JOB!!! Im glad your tolder is safe, but come on man, get it together

I would make peace with ur mom so u won't freeze ur *** off. and then u just stay their till u get ur **** together.
