Cohosh tea works well, but you have to be very careful as it can also cause unusually heavy contractions, stressing the baby.
Also, the cohosh teas taste and smell REALLY BAD. Be prepared for the gag effect when you get your first whiff.
I am sure you know about all of the other ways of naturally inducing labor - stripping membranes, sex (with orgasm), walking, etc. The only one that I absolutely do not suggest is the drinking of castor oil - it doesn't work, and can make you and your baby very ill.

I have never tried these methods as it is my understanding they rarely work and can cause excessive bleeding and in some cases blood clotting. My grandmother and mother were midwives and they would encourage induction only if the baby was in the correct position because manipulating after labor begins is far too risky, if the baby is in the right position try to have your spouse to stimulate your nipples and massage your breasts- this causes the uterus to contract. A warm bath and gentle massage can help you relax and calm down reducing your stress even having a glass of wine can allow your labor to begin. Cumin Tea:1 T. cumin seed to one cup of boiling water, allow to steep for 5 minutes, then drink. No more than 1 cup an hour per day, can really speed labor along but be careful and if it makes you queasy don't drink it - the goal is labor not dehydration. Finally, if you are able, clean house - try dusting and sweeping just getting ready for the baby the activity can not only release stress it can raise your endorphin level and stimulate contraction. Good Luck!

Contrary to popular belief raspberry leaf tea does not put you into labour. I am 38 weeks and been drinking it since 35 weeks with midwifes permission. I have actually read it is perfectly safe to take from 12 weeks in a perfectly healthy pregnancy.. The black and blue cohosh stuff i wouldn't know. I have heard to many controversial views to even attempt trying it.. Appart from that, if you and your baby are ready then the normal walking, sex, spicy food can help promote labour.. If baby not ready they won't work anyway so perfectly safe to try.. Good luck!! Xx

Now i don't know weather or not this will help. The other day there was a girl on here that was asking if it was alright to drink raspberry tea. Everyone had told her that it was a tea that CAN help you go into labor. A lot of the women said that their midwifes said that it would help so i really don't know i would give it a try.
Congratulations and the best of luck!!

Everything I have read says it's dangerous!!! Try walking or a warm bath. Even better...sex (the semen softens the cervix). Or reflexology, go have a pedicure and have a good foot massage. I have heard of some people going into labor after a good foot massage.
