Although not specific, Im doing my psychology undergrad project on internet use at the moment. Theres something called an online disinhibition effect (by Suler - 2004) which states that online people are disinhibited due to a number of factors such as anonymity, invisibility, asynchronicity, reduced authority, etc... Basically all these factors interact making people less fearful online - they can do and say what they want and "get away with it". I suppose other people believing they may really be celebrities gives them power - the same kind of power that changes real celebrity. Just a theory!

She pretends to be a celebrity, most (not all) have some sort of talent, even if its some kind of dumb talent.
Paris Hilton pretends to be a celebrity because she has SO MUCH MONEY she can get away with it.
Paris Hilton's remote talent is to spread her legs and put anything (and everything) in her.
