There are many groups that want to translate it, but I think some cultural diversity is already included... In fact the very first line starts with, "Jose, can you see?... etc etc etc..."

That just about sums it up.
You want to sign an anthem in Spanish, then go to Mexico or Spain. In the United States, we speak English and sing our National Anthem in English as well!

It is "Oh, say can you see...", even I knew that and I'm not American!
If anyone thinks it's "Jose", can someone please tell me who Jose is?
I live in Wales, and our anthem is of course sung in Welsh. I wouldn't expect it to be sung in English just because a lot of people here (including native Welsh) don't speak Welsh. I would just expect them to learn it as it is, it's not much to ask!
But Welsh is our official language. If there is no official language then I guess any language would do. So long as you are proud of where you come from! I can't comment on whether or not there is an official language as I don't know this.
I don't see any specific cultural diversity in the American anthem per se. However it does talk about free men etc. It also mentions God, which could actually be seen as derogatory to those who don't believe in God. But the same can also be said about the English anthem, "God save our queen..." and if I remember correctly there was talk years ago about changing it, but we are traditionalists in Britain and it got stopped in its tracks lol!
You can't take the God aspect out of the anthem of a mainly Christian country, the same as I would expect the anthem to be sung in the language of the country.
The Welsh anthem talks about the country and warriors and poets who would fight for their land, not God or a monarch (I go to church and like the Royals, so I'm not a hater lol!). I love it, I love the words and I love the tune too :)

Nothing wrong with singing the US national anthem in Spanish, with a correct and respectful translation.
Many songs are best in their original language, because of the difficulty in fitting a good translation to the music. However, a lot of fine religious and operatic music has been translated successfully, so why not the Star Spangled Banner? Spanish is a beautiful and expressive language.

America does not have an official language, some states have declared and official language. A national anthem should be sung in the official language, or languages. If none have been declared then what ever language you would like would be appropriate.

Yes, and why wouldn't you want to hear it in every language?
America has always been known as the melting pot of the world and every language is spoken here.
I love the fact that Spanish speaking people can be patriotic too.
Get used to it, my friend, because there will be lots of Spanish spoken in Heaven.

Yes. Because we are a diverse nation. Those who require that an expression of patriotism is only valid if it is a specific language are playing into the hands of politicians who have advanced their careers by adding volume to unimportant issues that are better suited for talk radio.

I like it better in German,but turkish is ok too.I think they need a new flag with a bull on it.
