US conquers the whole world?

Imagine that the US makes the whole world a part of the US, by adding the rest of the nations as the new states of the US.
What are the advantages and disadvantages?

The main disadvantage is that we'll have three billion illiterate voters who still worship their dinner plates.

the main advantage is that you won't need a passport or visa and we'll save some tax money after the INS is no longer necessary.
