My dog made her own back door on my high dollar tent. the hole is about 2 ft tall and 1 foot across on bottom at seam where it meets the plastic that sits under the tent. I'm not worried about how it's gonna look, just need the tent to do it's job by keeping water and bugs out. I was gonna use rubber cement and part of an old tent and just glue it shut. But if anyone has a better idea im all ears.
Thanks...

I would cut a patch out of the old tent that is 6-12" bigger in all dimensions. Place it over the inside surface and sew it to the damaged tent. Make sure you sew it about one inch in from the edge of the patch. Then use a good glue to glue the area between the seam you just sewed and the edge of the patch. Use the same glue on the outside to seal the edge of the hole to the patch underneath. Your local sporting goods store can probably recommend the right adhesive. If not, try using Gorilla Glue. The sewing will provide strenght but the adhesive will provide water tightness. Good Luck.

I presume it is a canvas tent; usually a canvas patch can be sewed over it.
