The last time I checked, the Internet was still up and running.
However, your *browser* may be closing...
..since you don't give us any details, it's hard to be specific, but is possible that you're closing your browser tabs in the wrong fashion, or that there is a configuration setting which determines whether or not the browser closes when you've done with it.

if you have windows vista you are not the first with tha problem, download firefox it works better. :)
