It's sort of calypso - sorry I don't know the name, but some of the lyrics are: -
"my grandma and your grandma sitting by the fire,
my grandma told your grandma I'm gonna set your bag on fire.
Talk about hey now! Hey now! Ida ida ayo!"
Any idea? I think it's from the 70's/80's.

That's really great thanks for the speedy responses. I swear I think I've been trying to figure out who sang the song for about a decade now! But shame on those that suggested Aaron Carter - I don't know how you can freely admit to liking that guy. I didn't know he'd done a version of it. I was thinking of the 80's version. Cheers everyone - you're all stars.

The Neville Brothers did several versions-- it is on their live album from the New Orleans Jazz Fest. Aiko Aiko-- instead of singing about grandma they sing "Brother John is gone." There are earlier versions but other artists too-- it is a NEw Orleans Creole song that is about two krewes battling it out--

Iko Iko was a call-and-respond type of chant of a Mardi Gras Indian tribe, back in New Orleans. The Indian chant was first recorded by James 'Sugar Boy' Crawford in the early 50's he called it Jock-a-mo but it was later changed to Iko Iko.
