Please help me with a problem I have had for only a couple of weeks and it is becoming very frustrating. Everytime I visit a site that requires Flash, I am instructed to download it but once I do, the message comes back that I made a successful download, however I am still not able to see anything with Flash so I am provided yet another link to download the Flash all over again to no avail.

I tried uninstalling my Adobe Flash twice and then reinstalling it, but it still won't show up on my computer. It didn't bother me much in the past but lately it seems that more than 75% of the websites have some form of Flash, only I'm no longer able to view them but just a few months ago I had no problem viewing Flash at all so I have to wonder if something has hijacked my (XP)operating system.

Today I received an important tutorial that I am unable to view due to this problem. I have Javascritping on my PC, so I don't think there is a problem there. Please someone help to resolve this.

I have Windows XP and my browser is IE 7.0 so I'm not sure if this information will help to resolve my issue, but I am sure counting on it. I'm sure it's something very simple to fix and yes, someone did mention that it could be my new Anti-virus program called "XoftSpy XE"....thanks for the help everyone!

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs
Look for any of these and remove them:

Macromedia Flash Player n (where n is a number)
Macromedia Flash Player n Plugin (where n is a number)
Adobe Flash Player
Adobe Flash Player n (where n is a number)
Adobe Flash Player n Plugin (where n is a number)
Adobe Flash Player n ActiveX (where n is a number)
Adobe Flash Player n ActiveX Plugin (where n is a number)

Once they are all removed, restart your computer and go to http://www.adobe.com/flashplayer... and follow the instructions.

It is possible, but unlikely, that anything on your system, like spyware, would cause Flash to simply not work. However, if the above does not fix your problem, the easiest solution may be to wipe your hard drive and reinstall Windows from scratch. A clean install of your operating system fixes any problem.

It would have helped greatly if you have stated what browser you were using! I recently had a problem with Flash in FireFox because I upgraded my QuickTime and all of a sudden all I could see instead of Flash files were big blue QuickTime ? icons - if this is your problem then see the link I have included below (answer is about half way down page). If not, please add an additional comment stating the browser you are using and what you can see instead of the Flash file - if anything.
