I didn't read the link because I am intelligent enough to know that this conflict has 3 stories to it: Israel's - which will never make them look wrong, Palestine's - which would never make them look wrong and then the truth - where BOTH have done wrong.
This conflict needs to be resolved but the US has continually taken one side. Worse, the Palestinians won't stand up to those who perpetrate the bombings that make them look bad.
Intelligent people do not generalize about a population - not all palestinians are evil and not all Israeli's want palestinians killed. However, not everyone wants peace either.
On Sep. 3, 2001, the US and Israel delegations walked out of the United Nations World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance in South Africa because the rest of the World was branding Israel's behaviour toward Palestinians as similar to "Apartheid" - and you cannot deny the segregation policies of Israel.
America helps Israel because of the power of Jews in the US, the closer ties between Judaism and Christianity vs. Islam and probably most because America took so long to intervene in the Holocaust and save Jews that this is seen more as a debt owed to Jews.
America itself kills and has killed innocent people - just look at Iraq, bombing Hiroshima, but realize that the Palestinians are just as guilty for firing rockets into Israel, suicide bombings in markets, etc.

I couldn't tell you. It's a strange world. You may as welll ask why so many Arabs and Muslims complain about Israel's brutal opression of Arabs while, at the same time, they turn a blind eye to the Arab dictators who oppress Arabs in Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Go figure.
