I heard a great one a while back.

The CIA flooded New Orleans during Katrina. The story goes that there was evidence somewhere in New Orleans that showed a conspiracy in the JFK assassination. If you watched the JFK movie, you would know that Oswald spent time there. Ok, the story says that somewhere in New Orleans there was evidence and the CIA knew it was there, but they did not know where. They spent the last few decades looking but with no luck. Then the hurricane came along. They knew that this evidence (photographs, letters, invoices, whatever) would be destroyed in a flood. The CIA quickly sprang into action and placed explosive charges in the levees to wipe them out and flood the city. If the flood did not wipe the documents out, it would at least give them the extra searching power they needed to go thru the city and search during the rebuilding.

Now, let me say that I do not believe this story one bit. I just think about it and laugh because it shows how flimsy a lot of conspiracy stories are. A story with evil government characters using a diabolical method to get something done even though it will kill many innocent people and destroy thousands of lives, and the story is backed up with absolutely no evidence.
