Eugene, Oregon.
It's still a hippie haven. Especially in the summer at the Country Fair and the Hemp Festival. I don't know if the latter exists anymore though, likely not. Also the Saturday Market downtown.
Eugene is about as close as you are gonna get! I think it even beats out S.F. these days.

Forget it. It no longer exists. !969 is so alien to the present day that it might as well have taken place on another planet or an alternate universe. Or so my dad says, and he should know. As one example of how different the world was then, consider that Afghanistan was considered a laid-back place for hippies to soak up eastern culture and score and smoke unlimited hash. People who wore American flag shirts were considered not patriotic, but commies out to desecrate our national symbols. College students and young people were treated the way Arab Americans are today. Sex was liberating. Rock and roll was rebellious. Cool, open-minded people had long hair and rode motorcycles, and were killed by hillbillies with rifles. Today hillbillies with rifles have long hair and ride motorcycles. The list goes on and on. In other words, forget it...

Small towns in Northern CA north of SF. Areas off of Highway 101 and near the coast is where many hippy type towns can be found. The grow more weed in Humbolt, Mendocino, and Trinity Counties (The Emerald Triangle) than any other one spot in the world, so you will find plenty of hippies in that area. There are a lot of former hippies from SF that moved up there when they got old too.
