My experience with Calla Lilies has been outdoors, where I grow them from bulbs. They do best in full sun, with lots of good natural fertilizer. I use horse manure and shavings as a mulch. If you live in an area where you can leave the bulbs in the ground over the winter without them freezing, you will have more and more each year. I am not sure about putting nursery grown plants outside. Hope this helps some.

If you received a pot of them, they are probably Z. x Callafornia not Z. x aethiopica which is the large white flower we usually think of. Of course, none of them are Lillies anyway but who wants to quibble. They can remain in the ground in Zones 8-10 but should be dug and stored in colder areas. However, I grow them in Zone 7 and leave them in the ground. They are a great plant for wet areas of the garden.
My condolences on losing your Dad-that is tough!.

Plunk them in the dirt in a sunny location. They will tollerate full sun to part shade. Plant them as deep as they are in the pot they're growing in. Miracle Gro is a good all around fertilizer to use bi-weekly. You may want to separate them (6" apart) as they will produce more bulbs. when the blooms fade leave the foliage to nourish the bulb. If you live in the cold north and want to dig them up in the fall, do so, I leave mine in the ground year round. good luck, sorry about your dad.
