Why does it seem that once a couple have been together for a little while the man stops doing special things for their women? We would love to have our man come home once in a while with flowers, or our favorite treat, or to run us a bath out of the blue and tell us to relax while they do the dishes or watch the kids, or how about to send us an e-mail once in a while to tell us they love us and are thinking about us when they are not with us, how about making us a nice dinner, or offering to brush our hair...any of these things, LITTLE things, would make us feel SO special...so why don't men think to do these things?
and is it only this way in man and woman relationships, or are people like this in homosexual relationships too?
Please help, I am trying to understand!

I am VERY sorry for catagorizing! And I mean that!!! I have just noticed this with my friends, and my sisters, and my mother, and....well, I just see it a LOT! I'm not saying all men are like this, and I am sure that there are women like this too, I just think that in a relationship both people should try to do sweet out of the blue things for each other, and I guess my question needs to be refraised!

Those a pretty generalize statements. ALL men don't stop doing special things. And I am sure there are women that take their men for granted also.

Relationships are not always easy and in order to be good it takes a lot of work and good communication. Don't expect your man to be able to read your mind.

Some men continue to be sweet and romantic. My husband and I have been together for 10 years and he still surprises me with flowers for no reason. And last week when it snowed so hard here, I went out to get in my car after work and my husband had come over earlier and cleaned all the snow off so I didn't have to. He gets out of work and hour earlier than I do. I thought that was so sweet..

I've been with my husband almost 4 years and just the other day he let me sleep in till I got out of bed, took care of the kids, cleaned the house (did a good job too) and cooked lunch. Then there has been days where i've catered to him while he played x-box for almost 24 hours solid on several occasions. We seem to have a mutual appreciation for eachother that I haven't experienced in previous relationships. So, he's proof they are out there.

Alot of men DO do special things for women. They shouldn't all be lumped into one category. It should work both ways, though, for sure. Maybe you just need to have a non-confrontational talk with him and just let him know how it would make you feel for some little gesture.

Well to me one of the biggest answer to this is: You'll expect it too much. See when a man does it once, can be out the blue, you'd expect him to do it again, not in a week, not in a month, the very next day. The thing is to not expect it at all. To love your other with all your heart and maybe, just maybe you'll get it.

I'm so sick of these stereotypes. Not all men are like that. I suggest if this is your experience then you are attracting the wrong men. Plenty of men are thoughtful and considerate. In fact, some moreso than their wives.

But it's just so much easier to gender bash, I guess.

you have it backwards, men always do special things for women, the women are the selfish ones,my sister's boyfriend gave her flowers for valentines day but she did nothing for him,men are always doing stuff for women but men get nothing from selfish women.
