Hi. I've got a Ford Tempo 1990 that's rusting. I live in Ontario, and the winter is rough on cars. The rust is coming back. I don't have a lot of time to deal with it, but what's a good way to make sure it stays in O.K. condition. I've already messed up the paint job by previous rust paint applications. The spray stuff doesn't spray well in winter, so I've got the speckled look going on.

Thanks.

Maaco's lowest quote to me was over $1000.

Not sure how much effort a 90 Tempo is really worth. Let it rust and drive happy!

I live in Michigan, so I feel your pain. My car is a 1999, so no rusting yet, but I'm trying to keep the salt off as much as possible. I wash my car at least twice a week in hopes that it will stay rust free until I sell it next year. It gets expensive, but it seems to work.

remove all rust and spray prime all over the previous rust area 4 times. then paint it over. you have to wax your car every month if you lived in a winter or cold enviroment and wet area
