There's NO WAY your car gets 300 mpg. You must mean 30.0 mpg. Even the best hybrid cars only get 50-60 miles per gallon.
2300 miles x (1 gallon/30 miles) = 76.67 gallons x ($2.15/1 gallon) = $164.83 in gas from Ohio to LA. (Notice how the units cancel?)
If you really got 300 mpg, you'd only need 7.67 gallons at a cost of $16.48 to get from Ohio to LA. You wouldn't even use a full tank.

Number of gallons = distance / miles per gallon. I will assume you car can do 30mpg.
= 2300/30= 76.66 gallons, but you must add some extra in case you go down the wrong route or get stuck in traffic or if you have an emergency. I would say that 80 gallons should be enough. This will cost you 80*2.15= $172. I would get some extra for any unplanned emergencies.

Your car does not get 300 miles per gallon... maybe 30.
30 miles/gallon = 1 gallon/30 miles
Gas is $2.15/gallon
so 1 gallon/30 miles * 2300 miles = 2300/30 gallons
That's 76.667 gallons, a cost of $164.834.
If you really do get 300 miles per gallon, then just divide both of those by 10.

I'm thinking you meant your car gets 30 miles per gallon. If that's the case, you are going to need around 77 gallons (give or take a few). At 2.15 per gallon, you're looking at about $166 in gas alone.

The answers above are correct with 115 gallons of gas will be used. Remember once you compare the ticket price with the price of gas to factor in your time. The time it takes to drive 2300 miles vs flying 2300 miles might be worth the extra money (depending on the price). Just some food for thought.

2300 divided by 300 is 7.666 gallons
7.666 gallons times $2.15 would be $16.48
sounds like you have some superhero car, if you really get 300 miles per gallon--sure you don't mean 30??

If my car could get that kind of milage it would take 7.6666666667 gallons. Divide the number of miles (2300) by miles per gallon (300) to get the answer.
