I think that their persecution in their daily lives by regular Americans is one, and the other was most definitely imprisonment in internment camps by the government. They imprisoned entire families and communities because of what they thought the people were capable of, even though they were Americans themselves.

One historical event....

Well, when the americans were defending the philippines and when general macarthur left to get more reinforcements (well, thats one event) the american soldiers surrendered to the japs. The japanese made them march from Cavite (?) to some concentration camp and this was called the "Death March", because a lot of filipino and american soldiers died while marching due to overfatigue and hunger and injuries.
