Royal Mail won't compensate you if you send the cash via Recorded Delivery as they want you to pay more for transporting cash on your behalf. If you go ahead and the envelope is lost, they will never believe that it contained cash as they don't allow cash via Recorded Delivery. Besides how can you prove that you packed say £40 in the envelope and not just £5? I am surprised you are still sending cash via post, nobody with half a brain does that any more. We live in the electronic age where you can transfer cash by direct debit, send postal orders, or even post a cheque. Why on earth are you even thinking of sending cash by post?

If you check the website at ww.royalmail.com you'll find that Dublin is in Europe henceforth you will need a 0.44p stamp.
