Me and my friend are planning a night out on Friday, but just lately Manchester has been a bit rubbish. Is there anywhere really good to go in town ? We like Indie and are males in our 20s. We also like girls. A lot.
Otherwise, we are thinking of going somewhere outside of MC - have you been anywhere really good less than a few hours drive from MC recently ?

Try Stalybridge (or Stalyvegas as it's sometimes known), some really good bars with loads of different kinds of music as well, it's only 15 minutes from Manchester City Centre.

There are loads of brilliant places to go to if you know where to look ;-)

Try giving the Northern Quarter a go, although they're not big on shiny shirts and shoes. You need to wear Bench and Carhartt to get in.

What about going to the Temple of Convenience (Oxford Rd) followed by Pevril of the Peak and Rain! bar? A nightcap in the Britton's Protection should give you good music (although not so good on the girl front).

I always enjoy a night in Atlas followed by Castlefield, although Dukes 92 is closed at the moment.

Have some fun in Didsbury village - get the 42 bus and you'll work it out!

Or on the way stop off in Fallowfield, plenty of students and cheap drinks.

Are you a fan of Kro2 on Oxford Road? There's O??er on the other side (used to be Zumbar) but I haven't been there yet.

Or Chorlton? It used to be a lot better, but Polar is quite good and there's good cheap eats there too.

Please don't give up on Manchester yet, we live in the best city in the world, and a change of scene is as good as a rest!

Enjoy!

Chester is a good little town near Manchester you could get a bus!

Or if you fancy goin a little further afield you could come to Nottingham,i live there im in my 20's too, its great,i would suggest rock city for you guys Fridays are great fun! not too rocky but not cheesy, very cheap drinks, cheap entry (it may even be free b4 midnight) and you can get a train from Manchester picadilly direct to nottingham train station its about 15quid (could be less now it was over 18months ago since i lived in manchester), but you'll be savin on the drinks so it balances out! lol!

enjoy!

Chester, Nottingham... Why don't you go to Lincoln? It's got a buzzing night life, mainly thanks to the university and recent property developments it has undergone. It has changed a lot in the last 5 years and it's a bit of a hidden gem. The city centre is full of history (cathedral, castle, old cottages, boutiques), with some nice little pubs (Treaty of Commerce, Witch and Wardrobe) and modern bars/ Clubs (Dogma, Poh Na Na). Give it a try!

If you are Students or ex students into the Indie scene try Chorlton or Didsbury for a change from the city centre. I believe it is a bit cheaper too for a drink in those area's....
