What is a good hotel or resort in Athens?

Any suggestions on where we should stay while in Athens (for four days)? (Greece, not Georgia!)

Hello, from personal experience the booking.com works great for me.
You can find good offers, reviews and ratings from guests (a great tool to decide based on other people bad or good experience).
I'm using it the last three years and I didn't have any problems. The hotels and the rooms were exactly as I red on site.
The maps also gives you an idea where the hotels reside.
The reservation process is easy and you don't need to pay with credit card. Enjoy your staying in Greece.

Athens is big! Do you want to stay by the coast or central? If it is your first time in Athens, the down town area of Plaka is nice, because it's close to many major attractions. I've stayed in hotel Adrian in Plaka, and it is nice. See http://www.douros-hotels.com/view_hotels.asp?hotel_id=2

A bit cheaper, but still lovely, close to a metro station but also central, is hotel Attalos: http://www.attaloshotel.com/

From both these hotels you can see Acropolis from the roof garden.

check out www.periscope.gr.
It is in a very nice area in the centre of TAhens( a little uphill), in Kolonaki, where there are nice shops, museums, restaurants, etc, near the Lycabettus hill, where you can go for a splendid view of Athens, it is on a quiet street and it looks really nice.
I could tell you other hotels too, but quite expensive ones, I don't know how much you want to spend (the first answerer has given you very expensive ones). Periscope is not very cheap, but I think it is worth it, because it is in a nice area, compared to other suggestions you have above.

it depends of what you want to spend. Far ahead from any other hotel is Great Britain Hotel, but really expensive. Tell us what you want, give some details: near the center? cozy? romantic? rate?
