Diseases can occur due to several things.
They may be due to viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoans, helminths, deficiency of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and overeating.
Diseases are due old age. Example: cataract, arthritis. Parkinson's.
Diseases due to gene mutation( sickle cell anaemia) and chormosomal abnormalities( mongolism).
Diseases may due to carcinogens, allergens etc.
For all these go to various sites including wikipedia.

Go to Google and put the name of the disease in the search bar alongwith WIKIPEDIA and then press enter. It will give u a detailed explanation of what it is and what is to be done with it. Thats what I do if I want to find something. Wikipedia has got a lot of information.
