The Secret is suppose to be some ancient wisdom that has recently come back into the light, and offers advice on how to be successful and happy and how to get what you want.

It always has to do with you perception of reality, groups seek to blur the individuals ability to see reality, for their own gain, thus always sacrificing the individual mind. If the individuals mind is useless to the owner, he is powerless. The secret, is to learn how to see reality and see yourself, and your actions in relation to it. It's no secret. People are trying to capitalize on what should be taught day one.

I think I've always followed The Secret, and just never knew it was called the secret.
It basically says that your thoughts, feelings, and actions (whether positive or negative) are what make up your reality. If you have a good thought, and you feel good about it, then you're likely to do what it takes to make it a reality. I think I've done this in most areas of my life, anyway.

I have. It really is no secret, though. Faith, love, and hope, the greatest of these is love. I live in a tent, bathe with 6 liters of water and get as clean as anyone on earth, including shampooing and conditioning my long hair, my only begotten son hates me, (he's 18 and in jail), Last November he assaulted me and reflexively i smacked him. (he's big enought to beat me up), and the police, In their haste took ME, the victim to jail. It was hell. the judge said he couldn't release me on my own recognizance because I have a history of not showing up for court. I tried to explain that he was confusing me with my son and that I had never missed a court date in my life. he said to tell it to my lawyer and set bond at 1,000 dollars. I thought I was going to sit in there with a bunch of folks that hadn't graduated kindergarten (No human has, yet), all big enough to beat me up.
Surprise! I've got a friend who put up the money, cash! Thankful people are happy people. I'm the happiest man on earth.
In your question I assume you think of success as money, because you say successful AND happy. Once you achieve a spirit of gratitude, you become happy. Once you achieve happiness, you are successful.
Consider this. I used to be a bed wetter. I've quit. that's something to be very thankful for. I'm happy. for years i didn't wet. I bought a brand new sleeping bag a couple of years ago, and it happened. I cursed my maker.
A year later, I bought another. It happened again!!!!! but I had learned a lot since then, and I thanked my maker.
You are one of the richest humans to ever hit the face of the earth at something like 250,000 kilocalories a day. Many kings throughout history would have given body parts to see what you see. Just to see it. Open your eyes, and be HAPPY. It's so simple.
Another thing. Knowledge appears to be infinite. repentance in the Bible means learning from the past. you must be humble to learn. god himself repented that he made man and created a flood.
There are no christians, yet. to follow someone, you MUST interpret them correctly. Jesus said never run into the road and everyone thought he said never run over a toad, and they pat themselves on the back for being good all the while playing in the road and there is a mack truck bearing down on them just like the one that hit my only begotten son on 9-11-99 and me on 11-8-99.
consider this: I saw a beast rise out of the sea, 2,000 years BEFORE Darwin did, and I knew his chemical makeup, atomic number 666. Carbon 12. I saw another one come out of the caves and drop bombs, and duuuuh, I KNOW it wasn't cave bears!!!!! I saw mother nature being chased into the wilderness for the same amount of time the beast had power, 126,000 years.
Duh, It appears the very best human on earth is raping his own mother. What makes me better than my feces? My ability to repent and LEARN from this.

I saw it on Oprah, before that, chicken soup for the soul, before that, the power of positive thinking. It's all a crock, self empowerment, blah blah, it's all about her making her buck.
