I'm filling out an application to work at a day camp and they want me to briefly describe my moral values and ethics, how do I do that?

I hope you are asking "how do you fill out this form" and not that you really are confused about what constitutes right and wrong. If you're confused about right and wrong - you don't need to be working at any day camp anywhere.

You don't have to write a thesis or a technical lay out of what right and wrong is. They want to know how you stand on certain issues essentially. A notation on your sense of loyalty, honesty, how you feel about always doing the right thing, why direction of youth and keeping them safe is important... things like that. IN YOUR OWN WORDS - not mine or anyone elses.

My honest opinion? If you have to ask somebody else about your moral values and ethics, you're the wrong person to be working any place where you have responsibilities to other people. I certainly wouldn't want to have any authority over my children if they were at a day camp, or anywhere else.

What you should be filling there may not be what you are feeling if you are allowed to act as you please. Real ethics and morals come into picture when no one else is looking or trying to stop you. So, decide from your core values, what you will do and will not do.

name your highest value, all right and wrong choices support that supreme value. Be specific.
If it's a god; name what kind of god, if it is a society; what kind of society? If it is a whim, which whim? I recommend to be honest with reality and say your life is your highest value just like all free people, and every choice you make is in support of a good, happy healthy life. Who, beside a suicide bomber, would disagree with that?

Right is something that is behaviour accepted by the society which has no effect or adverse effect on another person. Wrong is unacceptable behaviour by the society, has an adverse effect on the surrounding or anothers while benefiting only one.
