I'm not sure what you mean by this. On a daily basis I am happy by finding little things to appreciate each day. I spend time with friends or family and my husband, and that brings me lots of joy. My religion gives me great peace and happiness as well. (I am LDS.)
But when I start to feel in a rut I shake things up a bit by doing something I love that I can't do all the time such as shopping or doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Make yourself happy? Appreciate life: the good stuff, the bad stuff, the utter complexity of it all; it's amazing.

I don't understand what your problem is.
